About five weeks ago there came a knock at my cabin door at around 9:30 PM during a snow storm. I answered the door and a young man around 23 years old 5′9″ and 185lbs. asked it “Taylor lived here.” I answered no and invited the young man into my house to borrow a phone book and my telephone. I led him into my living room where he began a coughing fit. I asked him if he would like something to drink and he replied, “How about a beer?” I said no but how about a glass of water? He said yes and as I was leaving the family room I began to have a bad feeling and asked him to follow me into the kitchen. He got up from the couch and proceeded to follow behind me towards the kitchen. Suddenly I witnessed him lean down and grab a handfull of my medication bottles sitting in a container next to my recliner. I said, “What the hell are you doing and put those down!” He said, “Man you’re good!” I told him to put them back again and he instead started to stuff my pill bottles into the pockets of his jacket. We skuffled and I retrieved the bottles while pushing him towards my front door. Suddenly he spun around and shoved me. At this point I grabbed him and threw him over a couch/coffee table into the log wall of the cabin! He rolled onto the floor and stood up as I began pushing him once again towards the door. When we reached the door he spun around again and started shoving me. I managed to unzip his coat and attempted to feel for a gun. He pulled away from me, at this point I retrieved a 44 cal. special from a drawer and pushed the pistol to his forhead while at the same time cocking the hammer! He looked at me and stated in a calm voice, “That doesn’t scare me!” I couldn’t believe it and I finally was able to throw him off my front porch onto the driveway. He stood up and I told him not to come towards me since I still did not know if he was armed. To my utter surprise he took two steps towards me so I fired the gun at his feet. He stopped and said to me, “Hey, why don’t we go back inside your house and get high?” In utter astonishment I said, “You better get out of here before I blow your fucking head off!” He casually turned, walked back to his truck and said, “I know who you are and I’ll be back.” He casually got in his truck, backed out of my driveway and slowly drove away. I called the police and after a half hour they arrived to take my report. The next day I picked his photogragh out of a mug book and he was arrested. Two days later I received a phone call from the young man’s mother thanking me for not shooting hir son. She explained that her son was a paranoid schizo and suffered with bi-polar disorder. Apparently he had been to other homes that night and he was off of his medications!

Good intentions sometimes come back to bite you in the butt! Reevo

Hello,
This morning I heard a news story regarding the decision of the Attorney General of Wisconsin’s outragious stand that he will prosecute any teacher that explains how to use condoms/birth control to students during sex education classes in his state under the contributing to the deliquency of minors laws. This is what happens when a, “Born again Christian fundamentalist” is allowed to hold political office and given authority! Study after study clearly shows that abstinance only sex education does not work. Clearly this idiot is in a position to push his personal misguided beliefs and outdated ideas in another instance of church versus state. I fear for this country whenever one of these fanatics comes to light. The born again movement is in my opinion dangerous, especially when it mixes in politics.

It sounds as if the military is finally going to end the nonsense of “Don’t ask, don’t tell. The state of California will be voting on the legalization of pot very soon. The “War on drugs” is a joke and California has the right idea that if they allow pot smoking they can tax it like tobacco. I say decriminalize drugs, control the sale of drugs through doctors and treat addicts instead of locking them up.

Dear Blog Readers,
I know it has been a long time between posts but I’ve had much going on. I cannot believe the stupidity of the Tea Party Movement and their idiotic shining star Sarah Palin. If the Republicans run the “Hockey mom” in 2012, that would be just fine with the Democrats. We finally have healthcare for most folks now with the passage of the bill. Healthcare in America is now a right not a privilage. How do the conservatives travel from healthcare to “Obama is trying to become a dictator?” Or “Obama is lieing to America.” It is completly insane what the Neo-conservatives and downright whacky Republicans are claiming about Obama. It seems to me that the Republicans are aligning themselves with every nut job, rabidly religious, crazy person in America. I do fear for the personal well being of Obama. The mood out there is very ugly and Jim Crow is still out there in shocking numbers!

Yesterday the United States Supreme Court ruled to overturn the laws regarding large corporations being able to run ads for political candidates without limitations. While they still cannot contribute any amount they choose to the individual candidate, they are now free to spend unregulated amounts towards issues which support their candidates. This is a horrible decision and corporations will now be able to control the outcomes of elections by simply outspending the opposition in any given political race. This will be a huge turning point and prove disaterous for American politics in the future.

When I see Obama on television I am still amazed that this country elected a black man president of the United States of America. When I was younger I accepted that it was possible for a man to step on the moon, but I never thought Americans would ever elect a black man as this nation’s president. Martin Luther King could never in his wildest imagination thought that this country would actually judge a black man on, “The content of a man’s heart over the color of a man’s skin.” If he were alive I believe he would be very proud of how truly far this country has come.

States are cutting their budgets in meeting their revenue income shortfalls in an irresponsible way when they cut down on the number of teachers. The education of America’s children should/must be at the top of the list in importance and the last thing to be cut from any state’s budget.

Obama mis-spoke when he said that the healthcare debate being forged in executive sessions should/would be televised. Firstly, Obama or any president for that matter has no power over congress in whether a session will or will not be televised. Secondly, The serious work required in developing a new healthcare bill is important work. We need serious folks working on this serious issue, not posing for photo-ops for the cameras.

There should be free condoms provided by high schools to any kid wishing to use them. There should be no questions asked and this program might stem the serious problem of unwanted or accidental pregnacies.

The healthcare bill will help insure 95% of all Americans, it will save ten trillion dollars over ten years and it will provide a giant first step in treating the “Ills” currntly hampering the healthcare system in America.

It is absolutely time that this nation grants the right to gay couples wishing to marry their chosen spousees. It is also time to do away with the absurdly childish, “Don’t ask, don’t tell policy in force througout our military. Gay folks harm no one, they can perform their duties in the military honorably and they are entitled to the pursuit of happiness just like every other American. If you are homophobic in 2009, grow up!

I am in favor of stopping the war in Afghanistan and continueing the complete withdrawel of our troops from both countries. It is a debacle and not one more American life should be lost in either cause.

I am not, “Pro-abortion!” I am for the right of women to choose what they wish in regard to their own lives and bodies. I feel no man has a right to comment on the subject and no man or government has the right to tell women what they can/can’t do in regard to this subject. I am in favor of women continueing to have the legal right to decide for themselves on this personal issue.

These objections to President Obama’s speech to the children is so stupid it boggles the mind! Our local schools here at the Lake refused to air them for our children. This is nothing more than censorship by the radical right once again. I am furious!!!!
